James Beard Award-winning chef Hugo Ortega’s newest restaurant, Xochi, is located on the ground floor of the Marriott Marquis Houston hotel. Specialising in Oaxacan cuisine, Xochi is the place to experience true regional Mexican flavours, from delicate moles (traditional Mexican sauces) and tortillas made with fresh masa (Mexican corn flour), to speciality dishes like tlayudas (big, thin and crunchy tortillas fire-roasted with toppings). The spirits and beverage lists are stellar, as is the dessert menu overseen by pastry chef Ruben Ortega.
