In the quaint villages of rural Bali, this grassroots organisation’s community-led village tours aim to connect curious travellers with Balinese people through sharing aspects of their day-to-day life. The Pesalakan Cultural Village tour, led by village leader Made Astawa, includes a rice field walk on the banks of the holy Pakerisan River, coffee in a traditional compound house, home-cooked Balinese lunch and a meet and greet with some of the village’s 770 residents who share about ikat weaving and temple offerings.
