Heading to the Little Red Dot for a tropical escape? You’ll want to make a beeline for Sentosa – this lush tropical island on Singapore’s southern tip is home to stunning beaches, lush greenery and spectacular sunset views. If you’re looking for a luxury base from which to take it all in, Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa is a prime pick, offering all that and more. Here’s how you can make the most of your holiday and plan the perfect day in sunny Sentosa.
1. Soak up the sun at the gorgeous Tanjong Beach
It’s not really a proper trip to Sentosa without time spent at the beach. If sunbathing and swimming are high on your list of holiday priorities, you’ll be pleased to know that the superb Tanjong Beach is just a quick five-minute walk from the resort. Pack a picnic and bask on the warm golden sand or cool off with a quick dip in the gentle waters. If you prefer, you can always go for a swim in Sofitel Singapore Sentosa’s striking black pearlescent tiled pool that’s just steps away.
2. Tee off at the world-class Tanjong Golf Course
Ready to put your golf swing to the test? Located right next to Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, Tanjong Golf Course is sprawled out within Sentosa Golf Club, which was recently ranked one of the Top 100 Platinum Golf & Country Clubs of the World 2022-23. The championship-ready course is set against the backdrop of the Singapore Straits and offers commanding views of Singapore’s skyline. This challenging 18-hole course is defined by its unique sand belts and large bunkers which are a rarity on Asian greens.
3. Enjoy a French-inspired tropical high tea at LeBar
After a round of golf, it’s time to kick back a little and enjoy a lavish high tea at the Balinese-inspired LeBar. Set in the heart of the resort, this outdoor pavilion lounge overlooks picturesque views of South China Sea and the resort’s gardens and features an open layout that’s conducive for enjoying the sea breeze. Sink into plush cushions and savour an indulgent high tea menu that includes a mix of sweets and savouries. Standout items include the delicately flavoured truffle egg mayo sandwich and the duck rillettes with plum sauce tartine. For your sweet tooth, go for the pandan macaron and chocolate hazelnut financier – or keep it classic with scones served with clotted cream and jam.
After tea, plonk yourself by the adjacent fish spa and dip your feet in. Kids and grown-ups alike will delight in the resident school of garra rufa (also known as the doctor fish) that will nibble at your feet and cleanse dead skin.
4. Unwind at the world’s largest Sofitel SPA
Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa is home to the brand’s largest Spa, so a session here is not to be missed. The award-winning Sofitel SPA is housed within a heritage building that’s swathed in gorgeous greenery. If you’re lucky, you might even encounter one of the spa’s resident peacocks.
The sprawling wellness facility includes 14 treatment rooms, a private garden with a lap pool, a whirlpool and a pair of waterfall pools. There are also indoor hot and cold pools, as well as individual steam rooms for men and women. Take your pick from a host of wellness treatments, including body scrubs, facials, massages and the signature Sentosa Massage. For some extra TLC, sign up for the resort’s one-day retreat, a holistic day of wellness that includes yoga, meditation, sound healing and breathwork, as well as a nourishing lunch.
5. End the day with Sunset Aperitivo at The Cliff
Round off the perfect Sentosa day with a sundowner at The Cliff’s scenic outdoor deck. At Sunset Aperitivo, held from 5pm to 7pm, you can enjoy free-flowing prosecco, beer, house pour wines and soft drinks and a platter of canapés while taking in a spectacular sunset across the Singapore Straits.
Bonus: Extra special treats for the little ones
If you are visiting with young kids in tow, there are plenty of exciting activities offered by Sofitel beyond beach fun and the fish spa. The family-friendly resort has also recently introduced a Resort Activities Calendar packed with fun kid-friendly activities such as free movie screenings, sandcastle building and balloon sculpting over brunch.
