Founded by a Vietnamese-Sri Lankan couple, this humble dining room in one of Colombo’s greener suburbs – a few blocks away from Diyatha Uyana Park and the Sri Lankan Parliament – serves the city’s best Vietnamese fare. Order a classic banh mi (Viet-style baguette sandwich) or grilled pork served with rice along with a cup of Vietnamese coffee, and enjoy it on the wooden bench outside where cheery ornamental Hoi An lanterns await. Kim’s Kitchen also serves snacks the likes of chicken lemongrass skewers, pork bao and Vietnamese crêpes.
