While Colombo is home to a handful of pizzerias, Giovanni’s a few streets south of Independence Square has the locals’ stamp of approval. It’s open from 4.30pm-11pm for dinner every day, and is known for its classic thin-crust pizzas, alfresco dining and friendly service. Meat-lovers should take note of their wood-fired All Meat, topped with bacon, ham, pepperoni, chorizo and chicken. Other mains include gnocchi and pumpkin spinach ravioli with ricotta. From 11 am-3 pm every weekend, the venue turns into Yelo, Colombo’s darling brunch spot with sangria and live music.
