Built to house the fabulous art once owned by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, this gallery is unmatched in its collection of works by Caravaggio, Titian, Canova, Raphael and, perhaps most strikingly, Bernini’s sculptures. Visitor numbers are limited, which results in a quieter, altogether more civilised experience. Booking ahead however, is essential.
