With wellness becoming more and more important to discerning travellers, Singapore Airlines has partnered with Singaporean brand, Como Shambhala to introduce wellness cuisine to its passengers.
With a focus on seasonal and sustainable ingredients, the new culinary offerings focus on delicious and memorable flavours, while taking into consideration practical challenges such food freshness and nutritional needs in the air. Dishes will feature more hydrating ingredients as well as offer energy boosts.
Speaking at the signing of the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the two brands on 14 March at the COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali, COMO Group Olivier Jolivet applauded the partnership. “This collaboration marks the coming together of the world’s most awarded airline and COMO’s passion for holistic wellness and nutritious cuisine that has been at the heart of our brand offering since the beginning of COMO Shambhala and COMO Hotels and Resorts,” he said.
Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Yeoh Phee Teik added, “We are proud to be announcing this partnership as it reaffirms our dedication to the holistic wellbeing of our customers.”
Starting with the First and Business Class cabins, with plans to roll out options to Economy Class in the future, the new menu options will be available in the second half of the year. Passengers will also be able to order these new menu items on Singapore Airlines’ popular “Book the Cook” programme.
This new partnership could also lead to onboard amenity kits or inflight entertainment content, all developed with COMO Shambhala’s expertise in wellness.
