Singapore Airlines (SIA) Cargo has now expanded the quality corridor network for THRUCOOL, its cold-chain service for transporting high-value, time-sensitive and temperature-controlled pharmaceutical cargo, to include Amsterdam and Ho Chi Minh City.
Since 13 June 2019, customers have been able to transport pharmaceutical products from Amsterdam or Zurich to Ho Chi Minh City or Sydney via Singapore, while complying with standards adopted from the IATA CEIV Pharma programme.
As of May 2019, SIA Cargo signed a three-year agreement with SkyCell, a Swiss-based container solutions provider to lease specialised temperature-controlled containers, equipped with IoT sensors connected to a data cloud for quality monitoring.
Having launched THRUCOOL in September 2018, SIA Cargo will continue to collaborate with industry partners to expand its quality corridor network across key trade lanes, with several more locations planned for inclusion in the network in the coming months.
