First stop, Amsterdam
Amsterdam will be the inaugural destination for Singapore Airlines’ new-generation Airbus A350 fleet, with services expected to begin by April 2016. More A350 destinations will be announced in the coming months. “We are very much looking forward to the arrival of the new A350s, which will be fitted with our newest-generation cabin products, providing more comfort to our customers. This includes new Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class seats, and the world’s most advanced in-flight entertainment system,” said Ms Lee Wen Fen, Singapore Airlines’ Senior Vice-President (Marketing Planning).
Non-stop flights to USA
And there’s good news for business travellers who want to make non-stop flights to the US. Singapore Airlines has signed an agreement to be the launch customer for a new ultra-long-range variant of the Airbus A350 (A350-900ULR). With delivery scheduled in 2018, it will enable Singapore Airlines to resume the world’s longest non-stop flights between Singapore and the United States. The aircraft will be fitted with all-new cabin products that are currently under development. The aircraft will fly between Singapore and both Los Angeles and New York, with additional points in USA under consideration.
