On 28 March, Singapore Airlines welcomed the arrival of the world’s first 787-10 aircraft. This marked the first in SIA’s order for 49 aircraft, making it the largest customer for the 787-10 thus far.
Guests at the arrival ceremony at Changi Airport – which was marked by a water cannon salute – included Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport, and other invited guests.
Other than admiring the new 787-10, guests were treated to a reveal of SIA’s next-generation regional cabin products that will be available on all 787-10 aircraft. These include all-new Business Class seats that recline into fully flat beds, enhancing the travel experience for passengers.
The 787-10s will be flown on flights of up to eight hours, beginning with services between Singapore and both Osaka and Perth starting this month. More routes will be added as additional aircraft are received.
