What is a must-visit attraction in Chiang Mai?
Hire a car to get to Doi Suthep, a mountain that’s home to the sacred temple Wat Phra That. It offers amazing views of the city.
What are some of its best eats?
Be sure to try northern Thai fare like sai oua (pork sausage) and khao soi (a mix of boiled and crispy egg noodles in a coconut curry). Tong Tem Toh (Soi 13 , Nimmanhemin Rd) serves up stellar renditions of both these dishes.
Any shopping tips?
Chiang Mai is great for handicrafts, silk and other textiles, pottery and more. I especially love visiting the night market on the weekends. Have fun shopping and don’t forget to bargain hard!
