Willy Wonka’s fantastical Chocolate Factory may be the stuff of fiction, but the newly opened Lindt Home of Chocolate in Zurich provides lovers of chocolate with a worthy alternative.
Opened on 13 September 2020, the new Swiss attraction is the museum to check out a host of exhibitions and activities dedicated to all things chocolate. You can try your hand at crafting your own chocolate during chocolate-making classes with master chocolatiers; learn more about the history of chocolate from bean to bar through an exciting digital interactive exhibition; and watch as experts prepare Lindt’s range of products in the factory room.
What’s more, the museum offers tasty treats in the form of unlimited chocolate samples for you to snack on during your visit.
The museum’s crowning glory, though, has got to be the impressive chocolate fountain, which stands at over nine meters high and is the tallest of its kind in the world. Continuing with the theme, you’ll also find the world’s largest Lindt chocolate shop on the premises – so you can stuff your pockets and suitcases with plenty of bon bons to take home with you.
While in Zurich, don’t forget to check out Kreis 5 as well as Lake Lucerne.
