Every Sunday from 4pm, the roads on this colourful part of Phuket Town become closed to traffic, transforming into a bustling street market. Also called ‘Lard Yai’ (meaning ‘big market’ in the local dialect), this weekly gathering offers tons of souvenirs, such as indigo-dyed shirts, ceramic keepsakes and plush toys.
Here you’ll also be able to try loads of local dishes, including horseshoe crab salad and, if you dare, durian ice cream.
