Combining customer feedback, insights from research and market data from aircraft manufacturers, Singapore Airlines is working with prestigious designers to develop exciting new cabin features that will be rolled out progressively this year and next. These include the next generation of seats on its new Airbus A380s, Airbus A350ULRs and Boeing B787-10s.
This focus on being one step ahead in ensuring customer comfort is part of the Airline’s culture of continuous product and service leadership. The Suites (main photo) were introduced in 2007: individual cabins with sliding doors, window blinds and full-size beds. For those travelling with a partner, centre Suites can be converted to double-bed capacity. Suites offer an elevated level of sophistication, privacy and a space that you can call your own – available exclusively on the Airbus A380.
In 2013, the Airline introduced the New Business Class (above) and New Economy Class in order to offer better seat features for increased passenger comfort. The New Business Class seats provide two new seating options – Lazy Z, a cradling position, and Sundeck, a lounging position. Furthermore, the 28-inch seat transforms to a 78-inch fully-flat bed complete with cushioned headrest for greater comfort, linen, duvet and pillows. The New Economy Class seats boast multi-way adjustable sculpted headrest that provides snug support for the neck, a cushioned backrest and bolstered sides.
The Airline introduced its Premium Economy Class in 2015: an exclusive, spacious cabin with seats (above) designed with a greater width of up to 19.5 inches, as well as a calf rest and footrest built right into the seat . And when you’re ready to snooze, the seat recline of up to 8 inches ensures that you can stretch out comfortably.
Singapore Airlines continually upgrades its existing seats and seat configurations – after all, change is the only constant. What remains, though, is the Airline’s unwavering goal of providing a consistently great passenger experience.
