Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) first Airbus A350-900 (below) has arrived in Singapore. The 253-seat plane will offer Business, Premium Economy and Economy Class seats. It comes with higher ceilings, larger windows, an extra-wide body and lighting designed to reduce jet lag. Starting May 9, it will serve SIA’s daily long-haul flight to Amsterdam and its return flight.
From July, the A350 will provide services to SIA’s new destination – Dusseldorf, Germany. More destinations for the aircraft will be announced later this year. “The A350 is a key element in our overall capacity growth and fleet-renewal strategy. Its improved operating efficiency offers us the opportunity to open up even more new routes, providing more travel options to our customers,” said Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong.
In the video above, Mr Quay Chew Eng, Acting Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Singapore Airlines, takes us through how SIA pilots are preparing for the Ultimate A350 Experience.
