The Singapore Night Festival will be back over two weekends on August 21-22 and 28-29, 2015. This hugely anticipated showcase of spectacular performances, light installations, revelry and fun will be played out at the Bras Basah and Bugis precinct once again. Look forward to an exciting line-up of both ticketed and free programmes, as the festival grounds transform into constellations of glittering local and international acts set against the night sky.
Festival-goers will have a more personal and hands-on experience at this year’s Singapore Night Festival, as it goes one step further to explore the science behind the arts. Behind the Night is a series of 10 workshops and talks where you can get up close with various artists for a better understanding of their creative processes, perspectives and techniques.
August 21-22, Front Lawn, Singapore Art Museum
A heart-thumping story of reconciliation between Apollo from the world of Ethereal Light, and Nuri from the world of Eternal Flame, as told through the sensational artistry of Starlight Alchemy. A hot favourite at previous Festivals, expect to be mesmerised by a combination of multi-disciplinary flow arts, aerial maneouvres, scorching fire and LED performance props.
Garden of Angels
August 28-29, Armenian Street and Front Lawn, National Museum of Singapore
Inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall, Theater Tol’s latest performance merges the realms of nature, people and fantasy. Starting from Armenian Street, a vibrant parade of dancers, musicians, dancing flowers and animals will bring a surreal world to life. It will culminate at the National Museum with a spectacular aerial carousel of angels (above) descending from the heavens and showering gifts over everyone present.
Kumar’s Cabaret – Queen of Glamour
