Produced by SilverKris for Marina Bay Golf Course
Whether you’re a first-time golfer, squeezing in a round on your Singapore visit or introducing the sport to your kids, Marina Bay Golf Course (MBGC) is the place for you. Not only is it Singapore’s only 18-hole public golf course, it’s also one of the most stunning – with plenty of greenery and lavish views of the Marina Bay skyline.
Designed by South African Phil Jacobs, the 6,493m, par-72 MBGC opened in 2006. Today, it remains one of the few outstanding links-styled golf courses in Asia. And with its state-of-the-art driving range, immaculately manicured putting greens and constantly upgraded facilities, it has been more beloved than ever in recent months, as novelty-seeking Singaporeans pursue new hobbies and nature-packed respites.
Here’s what makes it special.
A golfer’s playground
Guaranteed to keep even seasoned golfers engaged, the award-winning MBGC has tremendous variety in lengths of holes, lots of undulations and more than 80 dramatic and treacherous pot bunkers.
Seasoned golfers will especially appreciate its two signature holes: including that 651m par-6 hole 4 – the longest in Singapore – and the par-3 hole 13 with a scenic island green design surrounded by water on three sides. To explore it all in style, play a round of golf on one of MBGC’s state-of-the-art GPS-enabled buggies and navigate the scenic holes and features with ease.
In the coming months, MBGC will undertake an impressive course improvement programme. With the reconfiguration of holes 4 and 14 to create 20 holes, a full 18 holes will always remain open for play, even when one or two are closed for maintenance or improvement works. Whenever they visit, avid golfers can look forward to exciting challenges and a better playing experience.
State-of-the-art driving range
MBGC’s driving range is also top-of-the-line, spread across three tiers and with an outfield of 270m. The outfield recently underwent a significant revamp, and now features 10 greens surrounded by waste bunkers, so you can easily aim and follow your shots.
There are convenient ball dispensers on three levels, and bays are equipped with Total Range™ advanced tracking technology and large touchscreen consoles. With these, you can not only track your performance, but also access a catalogue of world-class championship courses, games and skill-building challenges to make your time at the range more meaningful.

Stunning views by day or night
MBGC is the perfect sanctuary for those who want to get away from it all, and enjoy scenic Singapore from the tranquillity of the golf green. If you’re visiting the Lion City for work or pleasure, you’ll love having views of the sea, the financial centre skyline and iconic attractions, such as the Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands, as you make your way through the course.
The picturesque views continue when the sun sets. MBGC also has night golf sessions on selected weekdays – perfect for unwinding after a long day at the office, with views of the stunning night lights.
Family-friendly fun
If you’re travelling to Singapore with your family, or simply want to spend the day bonding with your loved ones, the Marina Bay Putting Course is the perfect place for golfers and non-golfers to enjoy a few hours together.
This 6-hole putting course has 211 metres of natural grass-putting surface, and contains undulations, careful contouring and varying lengths for each hole. As such, it’s an exciting challenge for seasoned players and budding golf enthusiasts.
Other value-added perks
While you don’t need to be a member to play at MBGC, you do need to bring along your golf handicap certificate. But if you forgot yours or don’t have one, they offer an on-site swing assessment for a minimal fee. Once you ace that, you’re good to go.
If you do decide to become a member, consider enrolling in the my golf kaki golf club, which provides members with handicap maintenance, insurance coverage, monthly golf activities and concessionary green fees that’ll put the swing back in your game.
Other perks here include practices greens and F&B outlets Canopy Café and Canopy T, where you can fuel up before your round, or relax afterwards while enjoying the picturesque cityscape. There’s also the MST Golf Pro Shop, where visitors can browse through a variety of golf clubs and accessories. Don’t have your clubs on hand? No worries. You can rent one – or a whole set – from them too.
Those driving to MBGC have the added perk of getting a cutting-edge car detailing and grooming session with the capable team at Detail Mania garage. The detailing team here eliminates bacteria, germs and bad odours with a specialised steam jet cleaning treatment, and offers various packages to rejuvenate your car inside-out.
Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, a seasoned golfer or a curious first-timer, the Marina Bay Golf Course offers Singapore’s definitive golfing experience: accessible, scenic and challenging for every level.
