With international travel being on hold for the time being, it’s going to be awhile before we’re able to embark on a weekend getaway to Bali. But if you’re craving some sun, sand and sea reminiscent of the Indonesian island paradise, all you need to do is grab your swimsuit, sunglasses and sunscreen and head down to Rumours Beach Club in Sentosa.
Recently opened at the end of 2019, Singapore’s hot new beach club is the latest offering from the Bali hospitality group, Rumours, which also operates Rumours Bar & Grill at Jewel Changi Airport. Whether you’re one for lounging the afternoon away on a day bed; taking to the pool with a drink, or two, in hand; or getting your groove on to some thumping tunes, Rumours offers all that and so much more.
A stunning ambience and facilities
Located on the sun-kissed Siloso Beach, Rumours Beach Club is the closest you can get to Bali without leaving Singapore. Want to stay near the pool? People-watch poolside from the comfort of an open cabana as you get your groove on to the music playing in the background. Prefer to chill near the sea? Take to the sand and gaze out at the ocean while relaxing on a beanbag chair as you feel your worries melting away. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, Rumours has you covered too. Other than a specially designated VIP area, the venue is also able to segment and reconfigure various spaces to suit your needs.
Not one, not two, but three swimming pools
Why have one when you can have three? Rumours is the only beach club in Singapore to boast three swimming pools, offering guests plenty of opportunities to cool off from the heat. The large main pool overlooks Siloso Beach, while the aforementioned VIP area boasts its own smaller private pool. To ensure the safety of its guests, Rumours has implemented crowd control measures at all of its pools at avoid overcrowding during this period.
Tuck into gourmet grub
What’s a good beach day without some beach grub? At Rumours, you can savour a mix of delicious bar snacks and heartier fare whipped up by its Bali-trained executive chef. For a unique culinary experience that’ll bring you closer to Bali, we recommend opting for the Indonesian food dishes and Jimbaran-style seafood that’s grilled up at the live barbecue counter next to the main swimming pool. The grilled seafood sharing platter is perfect to dig into with a group of friends, while the assorted satay and Balinese Mixed Rice are also mouth-wateringly good.
Bespoke cocktail offerings
Don’t forget to accompany your food with a few tipples. While you can choose from a wide selection of classic and bespoke cocktails, liquors, beers and wine, we suggest going straight for one of Rumours’ signature drinks. The Seaside Serenity (vodka, St. Germain elderflower, homemade tamarind paste and strawberry liqueur) is perfect for a refreshing pick-me-up, while the Tiki-tattles (salted caramel vodka, fresh passionfruit, lemon and rosemary) offers a sour-sweet delight.
Fun for the entire family
You don’t need to leave the kids behind either during a day at Rumours. The beach club includes an enclosed cabana area with a child-friendly swimming pool, offering a safe space for your little ones to frolic about under the sun. There are also lots of child-friendly offerings on the menu – including hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos and assorted spring rolls – for them to munch on when they get hungry.
Party it up in style… and safely
Given the current health situation, Rumours Beach Club has gone above and beyond to ensure the safety of its guests. All guests are subject to temperature checks before entering the club and are required to scan the SafeEntry QR code for contact tracing purposes. Safe-distancing measures are implemented throughout the premises, with groups spaced out at 1-metre intervals. The entire beach club is frequently sanitised throughout the day and undergoes a comprehensive daily cleaning, while hand sanitisers are readily available for guests to use.
