While the start of Phase Two coincided with many of us finally going back to the office, most Singapore residents are still spending at least part of their weeks working from home. The latter certainly yields plenty of advantages, such as rolling out of bed just before you clock in or being able to whip up tasty lunches in your kitchen. But it can also result in a myriad of distractions – from pandering to kids who are clamouring for your attention to having your workflow interrupted by noisy neighbours.
Fortunately, a number of hotels in Singapore have pivoted to offering “work from hotel” packages in a bid to generate additional revenue, given that it will be some time before international tourists descend upon our sunny shores again. If you need to hunker down in peace to get some serious work done, or just want to switch things up, consider booking an “office” at one of these hotels for a day.
1. Sofitel Singapore City Centre
Looking to spend a day working from the comfort of a plush hotel near the downtown area? Why not consider this Tanjong Pagar bolthole, which is offering a Work From Hotel package through the end of 2020. For the price of S$190++ per person, you’ll have access to either a Luxury Room or Prestige Suite during an eight-hour time slot of your choosing between 7am and 7pm. The deal is inclusive of complimentary water, coffee and tea as well as access to all the hotel’s facilities for the duration of your stay, including the pool and fitness centre.
2. lyf Funan Singapore
This co-living hotel in the Civic District is now offering both solo and group working arrangements. Their Singapore Workspace Package (S$70++) has a bevy of arrangements to fit your needs – whether you prefer a private studio room for a single person or a bigger suite for groups. The rate includes a stationery kit and complimentary coffee, tea and local snacks, with use of the room from 9am to 7pm. Add-ons include a bento lunch, selection of alcoholic beverages and the option to grab a power nap in one of the snooze rooms.
3. Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel
Situated along the Orchard Road shopping belt, Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel is an ideal location if you want to get some shopping done before you head home (or want to nip out for some retail therapy over a long lunch break). For S$120++, you’ll be able to work out of a spacious room between 7am to 7pm. The deal includes complimentary parking; in-room coffee- and tea-making facilities; access to the hotel’s pool and gym facilities (by appointment only); and 30% off all dining options on the premises, including in-room dining.
4. Furama RiverFront
If you’re willing to sacrifice privacy and are looking for a cheaper deal, you can take advantage of Furama RiverFront’s work from hotel pass, which allows you to work from one of its public spaces for the affordable sum of S$15++ per day. You can choose between the spacious Waterfront Lounge co-working area or take up a spot at the recently renovated lobby. Free-flow non-alcoholic beverages are provided throughout the day, and you’ll also get a S$10 dining voucher and 10% off your bill at all restaurants located within the hotel. Think you’ll be coming back frequently? The hotel also offers a monthly pass for S$250.
5. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport
East-siders who don’t feel like travelling too far from home – and who perhaps want to pop by Jewel Changi Airport after hours – can make a beeline for Crowne Plaza Changi Airport. The hotel is offering a work from hotel package (S$160++) that grants you access to a Deluxe Room for any eight-hour period between 7am and 7pm. Perks include S$30 dining credit, complimentary coffee and tea throughout the day and even an amenity kit that includes a protective face mask and hand sanitiser. If you feel like treating yourself, you can upgrade to a Premier Room for an additional S$20++.
6. InterContinental Singapore
For a price of S$150++, you can spend the day working from the comfort of a Deluxe Room at luxury hotel InterContinental Singapore. The hotel is offering a package that includes use of a hotel room from 7am to 7pm, complimentary Nespresso coffee and TWG Tea, and even a bento lunch and energy shooter to ensure you remain on form throughout the day. Although it’s currently closed for safe-distancing purposes, we also suggest hitting up the hotel’s moody jazz bar Idlewild for a couple of cocktails once it opens its doors again.
7. The Fullerton Bay Hotel
If you want to get some solid work done while taking in sweeping views of the picturesque Marina Bay, consider booking a package at The Fullerton Bay Hotel (price start at S$280++ for a deluxe room). The offer includes use of the room for a 12-hour period between 7am and 11pm, and you’ll also have access to the swimming pool and gym should you feel like taking a mid-afternoon exercise break. Other perks include complimentary parking and in-room Nepresso coffee and TWG Tea. A similar package is also offered by sister bolthole The Fullerton Hotel, which is located just down the road.
8. Hotel G
Located near the Bugis area, Hotel G’s “Hustle and Grind” package (S$90++) allows you to work form the comfort of a guest room (with only one person allowed in the room) between the hours of 7am and 7pm. Only available on weekdays, the deal includes a set lunch from Ginett Restaurant & Wine Bar, complimentary parking, beverages and snack boxes provided throughout the day and two glasses of wine for you to indulge in during your self-declared happy hour. If you want to extend your time, you can top up an additional S$50++ for an overnight stay inclusive of breakfast the next morning.
