Five-star resort Karma Kandara has launched its “12 Days of Karma” celebrations. From 23 December 2019 to 3 January 2020, guests at the stunning clifftop resort will be spoilt with daily spa treatments, gourmet treats, themed parties and more for the festive season.
Like other Karma resorts, this tropical utopia is best known for its exclusivity, with secluded pool villas with private pavilions, access to the award-winning Karma Spa and stunning views of Bali’s romantic sunsets from the infinity-style pool.
Here are 12 of the perks you’ll enjoy during your year-end stay.
1. Movies by moonlight
Bask in the lush, breezy surroundings of the beach resort while enjoying an intimate film screening under the moonlight on 23 December after a full day of parties and beachtime.
2. All-day DJ sets by the beach
Live sets by DJ Dadkins, DJ Pete Gooding and the iconic Balearic DJ Jon Sa Trinxa will set the tone for magical nights at Karma Beach.
3. Luxury wellness treatments at the clifftop spa
Taking those oxygen facials, deep-tissue massages and infrared sauna sessions to the next level is the on-site Karma Spa, perched 80m above the Indian Ocean with spectacular views of the white-sand beach.
4. Award-winning Mediterranean cuisine at di Mare Restaurant
This tranquil fine-diner led by executive chef Joseph Antonishek serves top-notch Mediterranean cuisine inspired by Asian ingredients. Try the rack of lamb with ghee carrot puree, and the popular fermented Java green tea salad.
5. A slew of beach games
Compete for the Karma Cup on 28 December, as you engage in a day of competitive beach volleyball and stand-up paddleboarding. In between matches, whet your appetite with barbecue offerings and sunset cocktails.
6. Fun for the little ones
While you’re getting pampered at the spa, the children will be well taken care of at the Three Monkeys Kids Club, where they’ll get to paint T-shirts, craft Balinese kites and compete in sandcastle-building contests.
7. Festive cocktails for the holiday season
Indulge in a different cocktail-of-the-day over the 12-day celebration, from the Merry Berry – a fruity blend of vodka, lemon and cranberry juice and raspberry rosemary syrup – to the Holy Trinity, made with absinthe, gin and strawberry puree.
8. Christmas with a cause
The resort has partnered with the Bali Life Foundation to host a group of underprivileged children, who will be singing carols on Christmas Eve. It’s an integral part of the Karma philosophy to respect and actively help the people and places in which it is located. Karma Resorts fundraising helps with providing food, education and holidays for underprivileged children.
9. Caribbean-style carnival celebrations
During the 12 Days of Karma, every day is a special occasion. Featuring a full-blown carnival borrowing from the traditions of Trinidad and Tobago, 30 December will be all about percussion performances and fire dancers at night.
10. A circus-themed New Year’s Eve
Instead of the usual dance party, spend New Year’s Eve at Karma Kandara with acrobats, dancers, a roving magician, and international DJs such as Silicone Soul and John Sa Trinxa.
11. Wellness activities to usher in the new year
Join returning Karma Yoga Ambassador, Ola Lirka, for complimentary yoga, HITT and other themed fitness classes twice a day. Other classes include the Mother and Daughter as well as Couples yoga classes. Also stop by the pop-up Midi-Spa Ready Bar which will offer hangover cures such as IV hydration. An Intuitive Healer will also be onsite to help you reset your intentions for 2020.
12. Luxuriate in the privacy of your own villa
After the excitement, wind down in your own airy retreat. All of Karma Kandara’s relaxing villas and residences are designed with Balinese-inspired modern interiors that open out to teakwood decks and private pools.
