Clean your hands and seating area
Wash your hands thoroughly after using the bathroom and also before eating meals. Additionally, bring wet alcohol wipes so you can give your seating area – including arm rests, trays and any other hard surfaces – an extra clean.
Hydrate and eat healthily
Drink plenty of water before and during the flight. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, plus salty and fatty foods, as these can be dehydrating.Instead, try to consume foods rich in vitamins and minerals, such as fruits and juices.
Get some sleep
Sleep as much as possible during the flight, especially when your departure city and destination have different time zones. Avoid seats near the washrooms or galleys if you prefer less ambient noise. Bring along earplugs, noise-cancelling headphones or sleep masks, too.
Breathe easy
Make use of the air nozzle above your seat. Open the vent and aim it so that the air stream passes right in front of your face. The filtered cabin air can help to direct airborne contagions and potentially pungent aromas away from your nose, lips and mouth.
