Singapore Airlines, a great way to fly. Why? Many would vouch for the exceptional service, excellent safety ratings, luxurious cabins and the list goes on. For my wife, Lenni, 19-month-old son, Darius, and I, it is the Singapore Airlines experience – in the air and on the ground.
Being teachers, Lenni and I have always looked forward to the long school holidays in June and December when we get to take little Darius to see the world. The process of planning, researching, making reservations etc., is no doubt tedious but we are glad the first step is always easy – to book our flights with Singapore Airlines. As they say, the world is our classroom and this is so true for Darius. Each time we return from a trip, Darius never fails to amaze us with the new knowledge and skills he picks up.
Thanks to Singapore Airlines, Darius has visited Taipei, Hong Kong and Seoul. Having flown in the Airlines’ Economy and Business Class cabins, every flight presented a unique experience of the same remarkable standards. There was never a dull moment for Darius with KrisWorld, in-flight kids’ packs and friendly cabin crew entertaining him from time to time, seeing to his every need. From ensuring his meal was served hot – considering he slept and woke at absurd times – to offering to wash his used feeding bottles before refilling them with warm water of the perfect temperature. What more could we ask?
Darius’ first words were “car car” and he has grown to take a keen interest in cars. It was because of this that Lenni and I decided to take him to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Light Up The Night Carnival last year, ‘driven’ around in his remote-controlled Audi R8 Spyder. It was a celebrity moment for Darius as Singapore Airlines staff and members of the public stopped to take photographs with and of him as he ‘drove’ around the F1 Pit Building. Darius also ‘drove’ up to and stole the hearts of the four beautiful Singapore Girls at the carnival who could not resist taking an Instagram-worthy photograph (above) with him. It was a good family bonding time for us.
We would like to thank Singapore Airlines for giving us such memorable experiences and look forward to more to come.
