I have completed a total of 21 marathons worldwide. The full list includes New York, Great Wall of China, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Paris, Africa, Los Angeles, Antarctica, Athens, Auckland, Miami, Jerusalem, Prague, Portland, Moscow, Chicago, Honolulu and the North Pole.
I have always flown with Singapore Airlines to all my marathons. This is because I travel alone and I feel very secure and safe knowing that any delays will be clearly explained, along with the other perks such as the availability of lounges, and a comfortable and generous seating space.
I cannot commend the inflight service enough. The cabin crew goes out of the way to pay attention to the little details, which makes one feel a world of difference! After a 42 km run, it is an absolute luxury to be able to return home and recover during the journey with a cabin crew that makes you feel special.
The gourmet meals onboard are a delight. The availability of “Book the Cook” on top of an already superb food menu is great, especially when you are on a long flight.
I definitely feel the difference when I travel with other airlines to connect to my final destination. For example, I flew from Singapore to Sao Paolo and had to make a connection on a local airline to Punta Arenas to board the charter Russian Illyusian aircraft to the Antarctica – what a contrast in service!
My arrival into Singapore is always hassle free – I can head to the lounge and freshen up and enjoy a great breakfast before heading straight to my meeting. That is the privilege of being a Solitaire member for 24 years. Overall, I commend Singapore Airlines on their incomparable inflight service – I can’t say enough good things about their attention to detail.
