What’s the best place to enjoy live music?
For open-mic nights, I head to Blu Jaz Cafe in Kampong Glam. The music is always amazing.
Where do you go to immerse yourself in the arts scene?
I love heading to Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay. It has free performances at the concourse or outdoor theatre on most days.
Where are we most likely to find you during your downtime?
One of my favourite neighbourhoods to hang out in is Holland Village. It’s so laid-back and the perfect place to blow off steam after a busy day.
When you’re catching up with friends, what would you be doing?
I love having board-game nights with friends. I get my games from a shop called Games@PI on Orchard Road.
What are your favourite eateries?
I’m a huge fan of ramen. My favourites are Ikkousha Hakata Ramen and Ippudo. I recently visited Japan and realised we have some pretty authentic, high-quality ramen here in Singapore.
As Singapore’s new Chinese-language ambassador, where do you go for Chinese culture?
I want to say Chinatown, but that feels like an easy answer. I think what makes Singapore so unique is the seamless blend of cultures and ethnicities in every corner of the country.
