During the American War (as it was known in Vietnam), Bach Thi Ngai used to make a living embroidering handkerchiefs that women would send to their men who were away fighting. Since then, she has handed over her business to her daughter and granddaughter, who have grown it from a humble enterprise to a gleaming showcase of Hanoi’s finest embroidery and silk. The store also sells lacquerware and embroidered home décor, making it worth the visit for a unique gift.
