A visit to a local pizzeria is a must when in New York, and you can’t go wrong with Paulie Gee’s. Owner and pizza enthusiast Paulie can often be found behind the counter, serving wood-fired pies adorned with unusual toppings. Flavours include the Greenpointer (mozzarella, baby arugula, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano) and Sake Mountain Way (fresh mozzarella and a tomato sauce made with garlic, onion, olive oil, basil, sake reduction and heavy cream). It can get extremely busy, so visit early and get your slice before the pizza dough runs out.
