Perched on the end of the historic Carpenter Street, within a shout of the vibrant Boat Quay district, the modern European restaurant is often populated with the young, in-the-know crowd. Decked in black marble and warm wood, the sleek, minimalist space puts the spotlight squarely on its well-executed sharing-friendly plates. Head chef Dex Tew, who trained under the Michelin-starred French chef Claude Bosi, highlights seasonal produce with uncomplicated, flavourful dishes. Start with the cod fish liver taramasalata, dolloped with avruga and sweetened with pomegranate. You’ll find yourself reaching for more wood fire grilled sourdough, but make sure to leave room for some luscious Tajima MS8 wagyu sirloin. The bar boasts a well-curated wine list, but you’d be remiss not to try the signature Lumo cocktail. A refreshing blend of gin, St-Germain elderflower liqueur and Kyoho grape, it’s a definite crowd-pleaser.
