This vast grassy square is home to three of the city’s major museums: the Rijksmuseum, where you can find masterpieces by Rembrandt and Vermeer; the Van Gogh Museum, with the artist’s iconic paintings including Sunflowers and The Potato Eaters; and the Stedelijk, which has an unparalleled collection of contemporary and modern art. In winter, there’s also an ice rink.
