While Akihabara is Tokyo’s hub for electronics, manga and anime, figurines and other geeky delights, it’s not the only place to pick up otaku (geek) gear. The scrappy Nakano Broadway shopping complex offers much of the same things you’d find in “Akiba”, but without the crowds. Broadway is also special in its focus on Showa-era nostalgia and retro goods, such as film cameras, original manga and anime cell prints, trinkets from ’60s and ’70s pop culture and more.
