This beloved local chain is easily recognisable by the cartoonish statue of a grimacing man wielding kushikatsu, or skewers of deep-fried food, at the entrance. It can be found in multiple locations around town, but the original venue in retro Shinsekai is a must-visit. Order crispy fried skewers of battered meat and vegetables hot from the fryer and dunk them in buckets of savoury sauce before enjoying them.
