It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of food options in the trendy Northern Jakarta neighbourhood of Pantai Indah Kapuk (locally known as PIK). But one spot you can’t miss is Sushi Hiro, arguably the best mid-range sushi joint in town. There are over 200 dishes available, including an assortment of sushi creations served on pretty mini wooden sushi “stairs”. Do try the signature salmon volcano sushi, consisting of delicately torch-grilled salmon resting on vinegared rice, smothered in mayonnaise and topped with tobiko. Other must-try dishes include the truffle gyu don and the salmon hobayaki.
