Credited with inventing the kathi roll, Nizam’s in the bustling New Market area enjoys cult status amongst gastronomes. As with all inventions, the kathi roll was born out of necessity. When patrons wanted to enjoy Nizam’s succulent kebabs on the go, the restaurant started wrapping the pieces of grilled meat or chicken in a flaky paratha (flat bread) – and the kathi roll was born. Regulars add an egg or two.
