This Victorian marvel, dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria (1819-1901), by Lord George Curzon, Viceroy of India from 1899 to 1905, is a photographer’s delight. Made of exquisite Makrana marble from Rajasthan, the structure becomes luminescent when lit up at night. Walk through its extensive grounds (26ha) with splendid views or check out exhibits tracing the colonial history of the city in the Calcutta Gallery. In cooler weather, there’s a light and sound show every evening.
