La Marine is a charming vieux bistrot parisien (old Parisian bistro) located on the banks of picturesque Canal Saint-Martin in one of Paris’ bobo (a local portmanteau of “bourgeoise” and “bohemian”) neighbourhoods. Chef Jean-Philippe Liotte serves up classic dishes including carré de porc (pork rack) with shallot sauce and decadent desserts such as caramelised apricot tart. The restaurant also has an affordable midday menu, making it an ideal spot for a languorous lunch and some solid people watching.
