The most visited museum in Denmark may sound American, but actually derives its name from the first owner of the property – who married three women in his lifetime, all named Louise. The museum is located 35km outside of the city centre, but it’s well worth the day trip – an extensive permanent collection of modern and contemporary pieces is housed in an architecturally significant space, surrounded by a lush sculpture park. It also hosts the annual Louisiana Literature festival.
