Expensive doesn’t always equate to excellent. That is the guiding rule to this by-now legendary local institution that was founded in 2018 by Tevy Moung, who is a disciple of her mother’s dishes. Tevy’s Place also acts as a social enterprise, empowering women (again, the staff is all-female) and the under-educated. Such is its popularity that, despite a recent expansion, it’s often tricky finding a table at dinnertime. Justifiably so, for this is among the healthiest, happiest environments to dine in the city, with a loyal fanbase (including returning customers from overseas) lapping up its eclectic fresh-food menu.
