Now with a sister restaurant in Phnom Penh, this local legend dreamt up by French chef-patron Joannès Rivière, established in 2011, famously remains Cambodia’s sole entry (2015 & 2016) on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants rundown, with a fanatical niche-market following. Named after the picturesque village it inhabits, the wooden-house fine-diner’s soirées are often overseen by co-owner/director and journeyman chef Nguon “Chai” Vengcchay, who ensures the adventurous fusion tasting menus, rooted in Khmer produce, retain their surprise factor with unlikely yet delectable flavour combinations.
