An integral part of Angkor Village, one of Siem Reap’s longest-running hotels (1994), Aaraama enhances the already stunning outdoor space with its lily ponds and waterside villas, next to the Kenary Lounge’s lust-worthy sofas, antiques and Grand Tour-era artworks. Its culinary focus, though, is strictly Khmer. Select menus with tapas-style dishes are curated to emulate Cambodia’s changing times and tastes by chef Touch Savon, re-creating long-forgotten recipes. Angkor Village joined Small Luxury Hotels of the World in 2008 and lies opposite the Apsara Theatre, an opulent showcase for the time-honoured Khmer dance.
