A Siem Reap institution whose chinoiserie-packed interior – a blaze of colour full of lanterns, urns and paintings – still enthrals its guests, Miss Wong has purveyed superior local food and cocktails since 2009. Founded and managed by New Zealander Dean Williams, the atmospheric lounge – named after Russian artist Vladimir Tretchikoff’s painting – occupied a discreet location behind Pub Street before relocating to Street 26 during the pandemic, far more befitting of its glamorous image. This “taste of vintage Shanghai” feels more Indochinese in reality, and has a sister bar in north-western city Battambang.
