I’ve been a frequent flyer with Singapore Airlines, and we will always remember February 14, 2015 fondly.
My wife had lost her wedding band before our honeymoon, and knowing that we were going to spend more than half a day in the air on Valentine’s Day, I emailed Singapore Airlines prior to our trip for a special arrangement. It was our honeymoon, and I wanted to cap it with a perfect end to the trip.
It was on our return trip back from New Zealand on SQ286 when the air stewardess came out with a very nice celebration that caught my wife by surprise. She doesn’t usually tear (not even during my proposal), but she was touched by the surprise which was made only possible by the fantastic crew of the day – Gelestine Lim (LSS), Jaya Kanojia (FSS) and Joresar Po (FSS). From the cake, the bears, the flower petals and the paper flowers, to the decoration and hiding the wedding band nicely, everything was perfect! Not forgetting that they were actually working tirelessly as it was a long flight, yet they found time to set up this surprise.
It’s only with the air stewardesses going the extra mile that made everything possible. Thank you, Singapore Airlines!
