A 50m-tall bungee tower and more new attractions in Singapore

From an art museum to a must-visit venue for thrill-seekers and natural attractions, here are some new and upcoming places to visit in the Lion City.

Dover Street Market

DOVER STREET MARKET COMME DES GARCONS

The world-renowned multi-label concept store will be opening a physical shop in Dempsey in July. A collaboration with COMO Group, the store is expected to feature limited edition items from avant-garde designers such as Comme des Garçons (above) and Gosha Rubchinskiy, amid edgy interiors. An e-store recently launched by Dover Street Market saw several sought-after items already sold out within a matter of days.

How to get there: From Orchard MRT station, take Bus #7, 77, 105, 106 or 174 and alight at Dempsey Hill

Parkview Museum

Aside from the Great Gatsby-esque bar, Atlas, the Art Deco-style Parkview Square in Bugis now also houses a museum that showcases contemporary art. The new Parkview Museum opened in March with a maiden exhibition that puts the spotlight on shark protection and ocean conservation. This included more than 30 artworks by artists from around the world. Entry is free.

AJ Hackett Sentosa

A towering purpose-built 50m-high steel-fabricated tower will take centre stage at the latest landmark on Singapore’s favourite resort island. When it opens on Siloso Beach in August 2017, adrenaline junkies can look forward not only to bungee jumping from it, but also to a giant swing from which they can swoosh about at a speed of up to 120km/h. There will also be a vertical skywalk and a 47m-high sky bridge lending amazing views of Sentosa and beyond.
