With the aim of offering more value to passengers, in 1999, Singapore Airlines launched its frequent flyer programme, KrisFlyer. The initiative gave its customers a way to accumulate miles to redeem flights on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir, or for seat upgrades to Business or First Class and more recently, to Premium Economy Class (below).
Over the years, the programme has continued to evolve. In addition to redeeming flights with over 30 partner airlines, KrisFlyer members can also redeem flights on the Group’s budget carriers, Scoot and Tigerair.
KrisFlyer members can also use their miles even when they’re not flying. On krisshop.com, members can shop with their miles, for more than 450 products available. And through KrisFlyer Spree, Singapore Airlines’ online shopping mall, members can make purchases and earn miles from more than 2,000 global brands and outlets.
To cater to an increasingly sophisticated clientele, Singapore Airlines continues to explore new ways for travellers to earn KrisFlyer miles. These now include using co-brand credit cards, converting points from partner banks and other loyalty programmes, hiring cars and booking hotel rooms.
With Infinite Journeys, a KrisFlyer initiative with Shangri-La Hotels, KrisFlyer members can enjoy two-way redemption of points between both loyalty programmes, twice the recognition with accelerated membership status, as well as twice the rewards, when they stay with Shangri-La.
As the KrisFlyer programme continues to grow and transform, members can look forward to earning and using their miles in even more ways. To join KrisFlyer, or for more information, visit www.krisflyer.com.
