1. Singapore Grand Prix

Naturally the month’s biggest event is the famed street race, happening next week. In addition to watching the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel battle it out, get ready for some of music’s biggest superstars to perform like Jay Chou, The Killers and Dua Lipa. There are also complimentary family-friendly experiences within the circuit park to try, like the race simulators. Or hop on the Singapore Flyer for a mesmerising view of the event. Even though the races run from 14-16 September, enjoy F1 festivities all month long.

2. Disney’s The Lion King at Marina Bay Sands

With its final performances coming up on 23 September, don’t miss this last opportunity to catch The Lion King at Marina Bay Sands. Cheekily updated for a local audience, the award-winning musical features several Singaporean references locals will love. Listen carefully and you might just hear Zazu the hornbill allude to Jurong Bird Park, while a reference to Mustafa Centre also comes up. The show will be moving on to Seoul once it wraps up here in Singapore. Tickets start at $65.

3. Liquid Nights at Zouk

One of Asia’s best clubs is bringing the best of electronic music to Singapore to close out the Music Matters Live Festival 2018. On 12 September, globally renowned DJ Alan Walker, Seungri of Big Bang fame and CORSAK will take the stage to headline this event. With surprise live performances, expect high energy, good drinks, and great vibes during this Liquid Night. Tickets are going for $40 presale and $50 at the door.

4. Moonfest 2018 at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay

Between 21-23 September, celebrate the mid-autumn festival with Singapore’s premier Chinese traditional art festival. Inspired by ancient Chinese stories such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Creation of Gods and more, these special performances will feature award-winning artists and established opera troupes. Explore rich heritage by participating in talks, workshops and interactive activities. With everything from a one-night only performance of Ji Gong, the Living Buddha – The Legend of the Snow Fox, to a puppet show of The True Monkey King for little ones, all age groups will leave feeling culturally enriched. 5. Telok Ayer Arts Club

The creators of The Supermarket Company are calling all creatives with the opening of their new club-cum-arts centre. Designed to bring art, music, food, and drink together, the newly opened multi-use space is a nod to local heartland community centres and works towards nurturing Singapore’s burgeoning art scene. With a kitchen helmed by Bertram Leong of Ritz-Carlton Millennia and Raffles Hotel Singapore fame, your stomach is in good hands.

6. Hungry Ghost Festival with OH!’s Secret Calendar

Art and heritage experience-specialists OH! are bringing you a new way to dive into Singapore’s art scene. Far from a traditional art exhibit where viewers observe rather than interact, Singapore Calendar sends its patrons on an interactive journey along with the artist. This month sees Artist Eugene Tan interpreting the Hungry Ghost Festival through various “offerings” over four months, culminating at an exclusive exhibit at an undisclosed location.

7. Spooky Seas at S.E.A Aquarium

Halloween arrives early at Resorts World where visitors can experience the darkest secrets of the ocean through beautiful floor to ceiling glass. From 1 September to 28 October, guests will be treated to all things bizarre, strange, and aquatic. The star attraction centres around the aquarium’s newest additions, the exotic elephant fish, bumphead parrotfish, vampire fish and paddlefish. There’s even a special scavenger hunt for kids to get involved in.

8. The GREAT Food Festival at Resorts World Sentosa

Experience mouthwatering gastronomy on 27-30 September at Sentosa. The festival will showcase the trendiest foods and world-renowned chefs. Like what you taste? Then learn from the best; take a Masterclass with the likes of the Topless Baker, Baked by Andres and Philip Khoury. Day passes go for $30, excluding Master Classes. Bon appétit!

9. Singapore Tea Festival 2018

From the 21 to 23 September enjoy an extended version of your daily tea time at the Singapore Tea Festival 2018 held at ION Orchard. With 30 different booths featured this year, the festival, presented by teapasar, aims to please all taste palettes. Enjoy a post-tea time activity with friends; take a workshop on the classic art of calligraphy or learn how to brew your own kombucha.
