Asia Pacific travellers plan to spend more on trips this year than in 2011, and are even willing to forgo splurges on luxury brands to bankroll their holidays, according to Travelzoo Asia Pacific’s latest survey*.
The proportion of travellers who expect to spend more on travel in 2012. Australians lead the way with an average of US$2,456 per person per trip, while the Taiwanese will spend the least at US$785.

Luxury goods are out and travel is in, with more travellers willing to give up branded goods to fund their vacations:

China 69%
Japan 66%
Australia 60%
