Terminal, the brand new
London Heathrow Terminal
2 (below), on September 17,
2014. With the new self-
service check-in process in
place here, Economy Class
passengers will check-in
either online or at any of the
self-service kiosks within
The Queen’s Terminal. Here,
they can print out their
boarding passes and bag
tags, and then proceed to
deposit their tagged luggage
at any bag drop desk within
their airline’s check-in
zone. This new streamlined
process is expected to save
travellers time and give them
greater control over their

WINTER FLIGHTS TO SAPPORO
To meet with expected demand
during the winter travel season,
Singapore Airlines will operate twice-
weekly services to Sapporo’s New
Chitose Airport during December
2014 and January 2015. In total, 14

The United
Nations will be
holding a one-
day Climate
Summit on
September 23,
2014 in New
York. Issues concerning the
sustainable development of
aviation will be discussed,
including climate change,
sustainable alternative
fuels and global target
setting for reducing carbon
emissions. The event will
also serve as a platform
for the aviation industry to
share the steps that they
are taking to reduce fuel
burn and emissions.
